<p>Ege Üniversitesi, Mühendislik Fakültesi, Kimya Mühendisliği Bölümü’nden 1993 yılında mezun oldu.Yüksek Lisans ve Doktora derecelerini Amerika Birleşik Devletlerinde West Virginia Üniversitesinden aldı. 2001 yılında İzmir Yüksek Teknoloji Enstitüsü Kimya Mühendisliği Bölümünde Yardımçı Doçent olarak göreve başladı. 2006 ve 2016 yıllarında iki start up firmanın kurulmasına öncülük etti ve ticarieşmelerinin ardından exit yaptı. 2006 yılında Kimya Mühendisliği Anabilim Dalında Doçentlik ünvanını aldı. 2012 yılında Kimya Mühendisliği Anabilim Dalında Profesörlük ünvanını almış olup Mart 2014 tarihine kadar İzmir Yüksek Teknoloji Enstitüsü, Kimya Mühendisliği Bölümü’nde öğretim üyesi olarak, 2014-2020 yıllarında Ege Üniversitesi Kimya Mühendisliği Bölümünde Profesör olarak çalışmıştır. 2022 yılında NATCO start-up firmasını kurmuştur. Şu anda Ege Üniversitesi Biyomühendislik Bölümünde Profesör olarak çalışmaktadır. Çalışma konuları biyoteknoloji ve biyomühendislik olup, interdisipliner alanda araştırmalarını aktif olarak sürdürmektedir. Bitkilerden elde edilen doğal bileşiklerin biyolojik aktivitelerinin belirlenmesi, izolasyonu, saflaştırılması, üretimi, doğal bileşiklerin biyodönüşümü, kozmetik ve fonksiyonel gıda uygulamaları başlıca ilgileri arasındadır.</p>
