<p>Born in Istanbul in 1974, Halil Tanıl entered the Ege University Department of Statistics in 1992 and graduated with first-class honors in 1996. He earned his PhD in Statistics from the same university in 2004. Having become an Associate Professor of Statistics in 2018, Halil Tanıl began his academic career as a Research Assistant in the Department of Statistics at Ege University in 1999 and continues to serve as a faculty member there. At the graduate level, he teaches Order Statistics Theory, Probability Theory, Advanced Stochastic Processes, Combinatorial Analysis and Discrete Distributions, and Advanced Statistics Theory. He has published articles on Order Statistics, Record Values, and Locational Trend Tests in internationally indexed journals. He is married and has three children.</p>
