Summary

Cancer still remains a disease with no definitive cure. RNA interference enables the investigation of new treatment methods by silencing genes that trigger cancer formation. A potential target gene for therapeutic silencing is the histone-lysine N-methyltransferase, SUV39H1 which is overexpressed in cancer. The efficacy of nucleic acid therapeutics is limited by the poor stability of nucleic acids in physiological fluids and limited cellular uptake. The aim of this study was to design a SUV39H1 siRNA and lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations to enable effective delivery.
