Özet
Beans are very important components that have high healty benefits in daily dietary programmes while the healty diet habits encouraged by governments all over the world basis. Twentyfive snap bean genotypes that include local populations and commercial varieties of Phaseolus vulgaris were used in present study to determine their, sugar components and agromorphological characters (pod weight, thousand seed weight, seed coat color, pod length, pod beak length, pod whidth and pod diameter). The sugar content including fructose, glucose and sucrose which contribute taste and flavour of bean genotypes are determined. Fructose varied between 0.59 and 1.66 g 100 g-1. Glucose concentration of bean genotypes ranged from 0.10 to 1.21 g 100 g-1. Sucrose concentration of genotypes varied between 0.14 and 0.94 g 100 g-1. Agromorphologic traits of beans as pod weight, thousand seed weight, seed coat color, pod length, pod beak length, pod width, pod diameter ranged from 4.54 to 20.73 g, 218.00-825.00 g, white to black, 11.40-21.65 cm, 0.30-1.55 cm, 7.15-19.80 mm, 6.25-11.30 mm respectively. Sugar contents and agromorphologic traits of genotypes were highly correlated (p<0.05) with each other. The analyses showed significant variability observed among snap bean genotypes.
