Summary
Turkish cheese varieties were investigated for isolation of Yersinia enterecolitica. The samples of Turkish white cheeses (25), kasar cheeses (21), tulum cheeses (10) were examined according to both typical appearance of colonies on selective media and biochemical tests. Four white pickled cheeses (16%) and 2 kasar cheeses (9.5%) were found to be Y. enterocolitica positive. Y. enterocolitica was not isolated in tulum cheese samples.
