Summary

This paper emphasizes the challenges that green transformation triggers in the labor market about the necessity to distribute fairly benefits and costs among vulnerable and responsible, and to restore the harms generated with specific reference to the concept of Fair Transition having three main dimensions namely distributive justice, procedural justice, and restorative justice. It prioritizes human well-being and employability amid sanctions and challenges of green transformation. Twin transformation - digital one added to the green one, might cause the loss of some basic skills and decline of some traditional occupations, or diminishing the need or value for certain traditional skills. Therefore, we highlight the importance of continuously equipping current workers with necessary skills for a sustainable economy. We also provide a set of twin (green and digital) skills employees need to cope with these transformations.
