<p>Prof.&nbsp;Dr.&nbsp;Ozlem&nbsp;Goksel,&nbsp;MD,&nbsp;PhD,&nbsp;is&nbsp;a&nbsp;Professor&nbsp;of&nbsp;Pulmonary&nbsp;Medicine&nbsp;and&nbsp;Head&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;Division&nbsp;of&nbsp;Pulmonary&nbsp;Medicine,&nbsp;Immunology&nbsp;and&nbsp;Allergy&nbsp;at&nbsp;Ege&nbsp;University&nbsp;Faculty&nbsp;of&nbsp;Medicine&nbsp;in&nbsp;Izmir,&nbsp;Turkiye.&nbsp;She&nbsp;has&nbsp;been&nbsp;a&nbsp;faculty&nbsp;member&nbsp;at&nbsp;Ege&nbsp;University&nbsp;since&nbsp;2011&nbsp;and&nbsp;was&nbsp;among&nbsp;the&nbsp;founding&nbsp;faculty&nbsp;members&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;Division.&nbsp;She&nbsp;is&nbsp;also&nbsp;affiliated&nbsp;with&nbsp;EgeSAM&nbsp;–&nbsp;Ege&nbsp;University&nbsp;Translational&nbsp;Pulmonology&nbsp;Research&nbsp;Center&nbsp;as&nbsp;an&nbsp;adjunct&nbsp;scientist&nbsp;and&nbsp;founding&nbsp;academic&nbsp;member.</p><p>Dr.&nbsp;Goksel&nbsp;received&nbsp;her&nbsp;MD&nbsp;from&nbsp;Uludag&nbsp;University&nbsp;in&nbsp;1994&nbsp;and&nbsp;completed&nbsp;her&nbsp;residency&nbsp;in&nbsp;Pulmonary&nbsp;Medicine&nbsp;at&nbsp;Izmir&nbsp;Pulmonary&nbsp;Diseases&nbsp;and&nbsp;Surgery&nbsp;Hospital&nbsp;in&nbsp;2001,&nbsp;followed&nbsp;by&nbsp;specialist&nbsp;training&nbsp;in&nbsp;Immunology&nbsp;and&nbsp;Allergy&nbsp;at&nbsp;Ankara&nbsp;University&nbsp;in&nbsp;2008.&nbsp;In&nbsp;2024,&nbsp;she&nbsp;received&nbsp;a&nbsp;PhD&nbsp;in&nbsp;Medical&nbsp;Biology&nbsp;from&nbsp;the&nbsp;Ege&nbsp;University&nbsp;Institute&nbsp;of&nbsp;Health&nbsp;Sciences,&nbsp;complementing&nbsp;her&nbsp;clinical&nbsp;background&nbsp;with&nbsp;training&nbsp;in&nbsp;molecular&nbsp;and&nbsp;translational&nbsp;research.</p><p>Her&nbsp;research&nbsp;focuses&nbsp;on&nbsp;severe&nbsp;asthma&nbsp;and&nbsp;allergic&nbsp;diseases,&nbsp;environmental&nbsp;and&nbsp;occupational&nbsp;exposures,&nbsp;severe&nbsp;drug&nbsp;hypersensitivity&nbsp;and&nbsp;rapid&nbsp;drug&nbsp;desensitisation&nbsp;(RDD),&nbsp;and&nbsp;allergo-oncology.&nbsp;Her&nbsp;translational&nbsp;research&nbsp;also&nbsp;includes&nbsp;molecular&nbsp;endotyping&nbsp;of&nbsp;airway&nbsp;and&nbsp;lung&nbsp;diseases&nbsp;using&nbsp;Novel&nbsp;Approach&nbsp;Methodologies&nbsp;(NAMs),&nbsp;as&nbsp;well&nbsp;as&nbsp;the&nbsp;monitoring&nbsp;and&nbsp;characterisation&nbsp;of&nbsp;airborne&nbsp;pollen&nbsp;and&nbsp;fungal&nbsp;bioaerosols&nbsp;and&nbsp;their&nbsp;interactions&nbsp;with&nbsp;chemical&nbsp;pollutants&nbsp;and&nbsp;climate-related&nbsp;environmental&nbsp;changes.</p><p>During&nbsp;her&nbsp;clinical&nbsp;and&nbsp;academic&nbsp;career,&nbsp;Dr.&nbsp;Goksel&nbsp;has&nbsp;held&nbsp;visiting&nbsp;positions&nbsp;at&nbsp;the&nbsp;Department&nbsp;of&nbsp;Pulmonology,&nbsp;Allergy&nbsp;and&nbsp;Critical&nbsp;Care&nbsp;at&nbsp;UPMC&nbsp;Presbyterian&nbsp;Hospital,&nbsp;Pittsburgh;&nbsp;the&nbsp;Pulmonary&nbsp;Diagnostic&nbsp;Laboratory&nbsp;at&nbsp;Mayo&nbsp;Clinic,&nbsp;Rochester;&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;Finnish&nbsp;Institute&nbsp;of&nbsp;Occupational&nbsp;Health&nbsp;(FIOH),&nbsp;Helsinki.&nbsp;She&nbsp;has&nbsp;also&nbsp;contributed&nbsp;to&nbsp;European&nbsp;collaborative&nbsp;research&nbsp;through&nbsp;the&nbsp;EU&nbsp;COST&nbsp;Actions&nbsp;DiMoPEx&nbsp;(<em>Diagnosis,&nbsp;Monitoring&nbsp;and&nbsp;Prevention&nbsp;of&nbsp;Exposure-Related&nbsp;Noncommunicable&nbsp;Diseases</em>)&nbsp;and&nbsp;ADOPT&nbsp;(<em>New&nbsp;Approaches&nbsp;in&nbsp;Detection&nbsp;of&nbsp;Pathogens&nbsp;and&nbsp;Aeroallergens</em>)&nbsp;as&nbsp;a&nbsp;Management&nbsp;Committee&nbsp;member&nbsp;and&nbsp;secondary&nbsp;proposer.</p><p>Dr.&nbsp;Goksel&nbsp;is&nbsp;board-certified&nbsp;by&nbsp;the&nbsp;European&nbsp;Academy&nbsp;of&nbsp;Allergy&nbsp;and&nbsp;Clinical&nbsp;Immunology&nbsp;(EAACI)&nbsp;and&nbsp;serves&nbsp;as&nbsp;a&nbsp;Board&nbsp;Member&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;EAACI&nbsp;Aerobiology&nbsp;and&nbsp;Pollution&nbsp;Working&nbsp;Group.&nbsp;She&nbsp;is&nbsp;also&nbsp;an&nbsp;active&nbsp;member&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;EAACI&nbsp;Allergo-Oncology&nbsp;Working&nbsp;Group&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;Environmental&nbsp;Interventions&nbsp;Working&nbsp;Group&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;CK-CARE&nbsp;Global&nbsp;Allergy&nbsp;Forum.&nbsp;At&nbsp;the&nbsp;national&nbsp;level,&nbsp;she&nbsp;serves&nbsp;as&nbsp;Chair&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;Occupational&nbsp;Allergies&nbsp;Working&nbsp;Group&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;Turkish&nbsp;National&nbsp;Society&nbsp;of&nbsp;Allergy&nbsp;and&nbsp;Clinical&nbsp;Immunology&nbsp;(TSACI).</p><p>She&nbsp;has&nbsp;served&nbsp;as&nbsp;a&nbsp;principal&nbsp;investigator&nbsp;or&nbsp;investigator&nbsp;in&nbsp;more&nbsp;than&nbsp;30&nbsp;international&nbsp;Phase&nbsp;II–IV&nbsp;clinical&nbsp;trials&nbsp;in&nbsp;asthma&nbsp;and&nbsp;allergic&nbsp;diseases,&nbsp;particularly&nbsp;severe&nbsp;asthma&nbsp;and&nbsp;biologic&nbsp;therapies.&nbsp;She&nbsp;has&nbsp;authored&nbsp;more&nbsp;than&nbsp;100&nbsp;peer-reviewed&nbsp;scientific&nbsp;articles&nbsp;and&nbsp;book&nbsp;chapters&nbsp;and&nbsp;has&nbsp;received&nbsp;seven&nbsp;national&nbsp;and&nbsp;two&nbsp;international&nbsp;congress&nbsp;awards.&nbsp;Her&nbsp;work&nbsp;brings&nbsp;together&nbsp;clinical&nbsp;allergy&nbsp;and&nbsp;pulmonology,&nbsp;translational&nbsp;medicine,&nbsp;allergo-oncology,&nbsp;and&nbsp;environmental&nbsp;and&nbsp;occupational&nbsp;respiratory&nbsp;health.</p>
