<p>I am an ophthalmologist specializing in corneal and corneal diseases. I graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 2004 with the first rank and completed my residency at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology between 2004-2010. I have been working at the Department of Ophthalmology, Ege University Faculty of Medicine, as a specialist between 2014 and 2020, as an Associate Professor from 2020 to 2025, and as a Professor since 2026. I have 19 years of experience in limbal stem cell translation science. During this period, I took part in 7 projects, five of which were financed by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey. I have more than 100 scientific articles published in various journals. Since 2019, I have taken additional responsibilities as Ege University Hospital Eye Bank Laboratory Supervisor. In 2021, I established the ocular surface research laboratory at Ege University. I am also the co-founder of LIMBUSTEM, which was established to develop a personalized cellular therapy product for limbal stem cell deficiency.</p>
