<p>He completed his undergraduate education at Ege University, Department of German Language and Literature in 2002. After completing his master's degree in German Language and Literature at Ege University in 2005, he completed his doctorate in the same department in 2011. Mehmet Tahir Öncü, who worked as a translator in various private enterprises between 2000-2004, was appointed as a Research Assistant at Ege University, Department of German Language and Literature in 2004. Since 2011, he has worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Translation and Interpreting at Ege University and as an Associate Professor in the same department between 2014-2020. Since 2020, he has been working as a Professor in the same department.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>His research interests include legal translation, technical translation, comparative field translation, translators' research and contemporary German literature.</p>
