<p>Ege Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Bahçe Bitkileri bölümü'nden 1990 yılında mezun oldu. Yüksek lisans öğrenimini 1993 yılında, doktora öğrenimini ise 1999 yılında tamamladı. Çalışmaları; meyve yetiştiriciliği, stres fizyolojisi, sürdürülebilir tarım sistemleri ve sürdürülebilir meyve yetiştiriciliği konularında yoğunlaştı. İspanya Valencia Politecnic üniversitesi ve IVIA Instituto Valenciano de Investigaciones Agrarias tarafından düzenlenen Master en Citricultura programı’na ve CIHEAM ve Roma Üniversitesi’nce düzenlenen Organik Tarımda Uzaktan Eğitim konulu çalışma grubuna katıldı. VIII. Beş Yıllık Kalkınma Planı Gıda Sanayii ve Rekabet Edebilirlik Meyve Sebze İşleme Özel İhtisas Komisyonu'nda görev aldı. World Bank-IAASTD (Int. Assessment of Agricultural Science and Technology for Development) CWANA Region Group çalışmalarına katıldı. FAO-MECINET “Akdeniz Ülkeleri Turunçgiller Networkü” ulusal komite üyeliği ve FAO-GNCGR “Dünya Turunçgiller Gen Kaynakları Networkü” ulusal komite üyeliği yaptı. Ekolojik Tarım Organizasyonu Derneği'nde yönetim kurulu üyeliğinde bulundu, Bahçe Bitkileri Derneği yönetim kurulu üyeliği ve Ulusal Turunçgil Konsey üyeliği görevleri devam etmektedir.</p>
