<p>Eren Alkan, lisans ve yüksek lisans derecelerini Ege Üniversitesi, Amerikan Kültürü ve Edebiyatı bölümünde almıştır. Aynı bölümde doktora derecesini de alan Alkan, ikinci doktora çalışmasını Rovira i Virgili Üniversitesi, Sosyoloji bölümünde tamamlamıştır. Ege Üniversitesi Sosyoloji bölümünde siyaset, edebiyat, çevre, eğitim ve dil sosyolojisi, uygarlık tarihi, metin analizi, kadın çalışmaları ve akademik İngilizce gibi çeşitli dersler vermiştir. Şu anda Yabancı Diller Yüksekokulunda İngilizce dersleri ile Sosyoloji bölümünde Eğitim Sosyolojisi ve Duygu Sosyolojisi derslerini yürütmektedir. İlgi alanları arasında, eko-eleştiri ve çevre sosyolojisi, karşılaştırmalı entelektüel ve edebi tarih, kadın hakları, AP ve IB program tasarımı, edebiyat ve siyaset sosyolojisi, Batı edebiyatı, duygular sosyolojisi ve eleştirel pedagoji sayılabilir. </p><p> </p>
