Comparison of the fit of various framework materials manufactured through different production methods in implant supported complete-arch fixed prostheses
Project no. 23509 · Status: Kapanmış (Yayın bekleniyor) · 2022
Summary

The fit of the produced framework materials plays a significant role in the success of implant-supported fixed prostheses. The aim of this in-vitro study is to compare the fit of different framework materials such as Cr-Co, Zirconia, Bio-hpp, and Peek, produced with various manufacturing methods in full-arch fixed prostheses supported by implants using micro-CT.

Within this project, 6 standard tissue-level implant analogs (Ø 4.0 mm) (SKY Classic, Bredent Medical, Senden, Germany) will be placed in the upper jaw edentulous model and positioned on occlusal screw-retained abutment analogs. Open tray impression copings will be placed on the abutments, and an elastomeric impression material (Polyether, 3M-Espe, Impregum Penta Soft) will be used to take the impression. The analogs will be placed in the impression, a gingival mask will be applied, and type 4 extra-hard plaster will be used for the cast of the working model.

On the model prepared for this study (n=7/group), 35 infrastructure materials will be examined in 5 groups as follows:

Group Cr-Co produced with Casting (Lost wax technique),

Group Cr-Co produced with Laser Sintering method,

Group Zirconia produced with CAD-CAM milling,

Group Bio-hpp produced with CAD-CAM milling,

Group Peek produced with CAD-CAM milling.

The fit of the framework materials will be evaluated using the replica technique with a flowable silicone-based impression material (Vinyl Polysiloxane, 3M-Espe, Express, Regular set, Light body) to mimic the cement material. The prepared silicone replicas will be scanned with a micro-CT device, and 2-dimensional sectional images (Sagittal-Frontal) will be obtained. The thickness of the silicone layer at predefined points on the sectional images will be analyzed using the software of the micro-CT device. Measurements will be made at 16 different points previously determined on the silicone replicas for this thickness analysis.

The Tukey-HSD test will be applied to compare the marginal and internal fits of the groups.
