Determination of Alien Macroinvertebrate Species Distributed in Hard Subratums in Izmir Inner Gulf and Investigation of Their Seasonal Distribution
Project no. 22834 · Status: Kapanmış (Yayın bekleniyor) · 2021
Summary

The aim of this project is to identify alien (exotic) macroinvertebrate species distributed on hard substrates in the supra/medio-littoral zone of İzmir Inner Bay and to examine their seasonal distributions. For this purpose, seasonal sampling will be conducted at six representative stations within İzmir Inner Bay and one control station selected from the middle bay, using quadrats with an area of 400 cm² and spatulas, with three replicates per station. The collected data will be evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively and analyzed using various statistical methods. The relationship, if any, between the main physico-chemical characteristics of the stations and the distribution of alien species will be determined through statistical analysis. Additionally, the data obtained from this project will be compared with previous studies to reveal the current status of alien macroinvertebrate species. Among these species, the population characteristics and distribution of Pseudonereis anomala, an alien and economically significant species identified in İzmir Bay, will also be determined.
