Investigation of the Relationship Between Leptin Gene and Some Yield Traits in Sea Bream Sparus aurata by SNP Markers

Project no. 23939 · Status: Kapanmış (Yayın bekleniyor) · 2022

Summary

The genetic variations in a partial region of the LEP gene and its associations with growth traits were studied using DNA sequencing in gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata) individuals. We identified 7 novel SNPs (g.4062183A>C, g.4062177G>A, g.4062092A>G, g.4062030G>A, g.4061965G>T, g.4061776T>A and g.4061756G>A) in the LEP gene in Sparus aurata. The genotypes of the g.4062092A>G locus nonsynonymous mutation in asparagine to aspartic acid in Sparus aurata 2nd ekzon of the LEP gene were found to be significantly associated with total weight, fillet weight, total length, standard length, head length, pectanal1 length, pectanal2 length, pectD length and body width (P<0.05). It is suggested that g.4062092A>G should be used as a potential marker to improve the accuracy of selection in gilthead sea bream cultured populations.
