Summary

The purpose of this study is to examine the predictor power of maternal and paternal helicopter parenting attitudes perceived by adolescents between the ages of 14 and 18 on their psychological well-being and life satisfaction levels. The sample of the study consisted of 378 high school students (230 female, 148 male) aged 14-18 who were attending high schools in Çiğli and Karşıyaka districts of İzmir in the 2023-2024 academic year. The data were obtained through Perceived Helicopter Parenting Attitude Scale, Life Satisfaction Scale, Psychological Well-Being Scale, and Personal Information Form. In the analysis of the data, multiple linear regression analysis was used to determine the predictive power of perceived maternal and paternal helicopter parenting attitudes on psychological well-being and life satisfaction levels. The findings revealed that perceived maternal helicopter parenting predicted psychological well-being and life satisfaction levels of adolescents in a negative and significant level; while perceived paternal helicopter parenting did not predict psychological well-being and life satisfaction levels.
