Project no. 23295 · Status: Kapanmış · 2021
Summary

Recently, studies in the field of thin films are met with increasing interest by scientists. Polyaniline thin films, which are among the thin films, are preferred in various applications with their electrical conductivity, environmental stability, thermal stability and doping properties. Polyaniline thin films; are used in many fields such as super capacitors, sensors, electronic devices, drug delivery systems. In this study, single-layer, 5-layer, Ag-doped and Ag-free thin films were synthesized by sol-gel method and coated on glass substrate by spin coating method. The chemical, electrical and morphological properties of glass substrates coated with polyaniline thin film were investigated. The effect of the number of layers and Ag additives on polyanine thin films was determined. Chemical characterization of thin films was performed by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). Characterization of polyaniline powder at 25-1000 oC was made by Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA). The total residue remaining after mass loss was determined to be 24,47% pure polyaniline. Morphological properties of thin films were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. The size of the observed porosities was determined to be 77,8 nm. It has been determined that the morphology of polyaniline thin films (PANI) has a porous, fibrous structure and Ag additive makes the surface morphology more homogeneous. The crystal structure of polyaniline thin films was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. It was determined that the crystallinity of the single layer Ag doped PANI thin film was higher than the single layer undoped PANI thin film. The chemical composition of PANI thin films was determined using XPS analysis. Thin film thickness measurement was performed on PANI thin films. The film thickness of single-layer PANI thin films was measured as 1,21 µm and 1,39 µm. I-V analysis was performed to determine the electrical properties of PANI thin films. The conductivity of single-layer undoped PANI thin films is 2,31x10-5(Ω.cm)-1, the conductivity of 5-layer pure PANI thin films is 59,5x10-5(Ω.cm)-1, the conductivity of single-layer Ag-doped PANI thin films is 1,51 x10-5(Ω.cm)-1, the conductivity of 5-layer Ag-doped PANI thin films was measured as 3,25x10-7(Ω.cm)-1. In this thesis, it is thought that polyaniline thin films synthesized by sol-gel method and coated on glass substrate by spin coating method will contribute to thin film technology.
