Determination of Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Activities of Nanoparticles Containing Humic/Fulvic Acid and Plant Extract

Project no. 29614 · Status: Kapanmış (Yayın bekleniyor) · 2023

Summary

The use of antibiotics as feed additives has been banned in most countries against the risk of creating strains of microorganisms with high antibiotic resistance in animals and people who consume products obtained from animals with long-term use. For this reason, in recent years, researchers have focused on the development of natural feed additives that can be used as an alternative to antibiotics in their studies and the dissemination of their use, and plant extracts and organic acids, which are natural feed additives, have started to be used, especially in the nutrition of farm animals. In this study, a completely new and original plant for Turkey, the Moringa plant (Moringa oleifera L.) and humic/fulvic acid will be used to produce a new feed additive with superior properties than normal-sized particles by producing nanoparticles with nanotechnology, which is a new technology and is in the process of development. In this study, which will be conducted in vitro, Moringa plant (Moringa oleifera L.) grown in the ecological conditions of Izmir, Aegean Region.) with humic/fulvic acid obtained from leonardite raw material and the content of which has been determined will be used. In the study, a 3x2 factorial trial pattern will be created using two different particle sizes, normal and nano, and three different products (HA/FA, MOE, HA/FA+MOE). A total of six different trial groups' antioxidant capacity (DPPH and Trolox equivalent), total phenol capacity and antimicrobial properties will be determined. With the help of scanning electron microscopy (SEM analysis) and Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR), useful high-resolution imaging of the produced nanoparticles will be performed. Thus, a new versatile alternative product will be developed that will shed light on the advanced studies to be carried out in this field and will be used in animal nutrition by using a new technology. With the results obtained, contributions will be made to national and international literatures.
