Photocatalytic Oxidation of Rhodamine 6G Dye over Magnetic Photocatalysts
Project no. 1317 · Status: Kapanmış · 2018
Summary
In the content of this study, Fe3O4/TiO2, Fe3O4/FeTiO2 (1 wt% Fe), Fe3O4/FeTiO2 (2 wt% Fe), and Fe3O4/TiO2/FeZSM-5 magnetically recyclable composite photocatalysts were synthesized and characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), Nitrogen adsorption (BET), X-Ray Powder Diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) techniques. The activities of prepared catalysts were tested for decolorization of Rhodamine 6G (Rh 6G) dye by photocatalytic oxidation in the presence of visible light (> 400 nm of wavelength, each 150 W two visible lamps). The highest decolorization of ~ 35% was achieved in the presence of Fe3O4/TiO2/FeZSM-5 catalyst after a reaction time of 5h. The effects of important parameters such as the amount of catalyst, initial concentration of Rhodamine 6G dye and pH were investigated for color removal of Rhodamine 6G dye over the most active catalyst of Fe3O4/TiO2/FeZSM-5 . The Response Surface Methodology was used to optimize the decolorization parameters and to determine their individual and interaction effects on the decolorization of Rh 6G dye.
