Synthesis and Characteristics of New Mn-Phthalocyanine to Use Electrode Constructıon

Project no. 599 · Status: Kapanmış · 2016

Summary

Phthalocyanines (Pcs) are increasingly taking place in organic-based optical data storage and electronic devices, PDT and photocatalyst (photoreceptor) applications in many environments where light sensitive systems are present, due to their large conjugate system with macroscopic structure. In this project, the new starting material, phthalonitrile derivative, was synthesized first. In the second step, complexes of Mn (II) -2 (3), 9 (10), 16 (17), 23 (24) -tetra [(2E) -3- (3-phenoxy) acrylic acid] phthalocyanine were synthesized. The next derivative is the ester substituent group Mn (II) -2 (3), 9 (10), 16 (17), 23 (24) -tetra [hexyl- (2E) -3- (3-phenoxy) acrylate] Phthalocyanine (3) has been converted to Mn-phthalocyanine with ester substituent group. Their structural properties were determined by means of FTIR, UV-Visible, 1H NMR and Tof-Mass spectrophotometers, providing purification and isolation of each product step. The melting point of the final MnPc products was found to be above 300 ° C, while the melting point of the intermediate step phthalonitrile product was both thermal E.N. device, as well as DSC. The light resistances of synthetic MnPc products were tested under a xenon lamp, at a distance of 10 cm from the lamp, in a thermostatic environment. Although many organic materials and dyes can be easily degraded in this light, they have not changed in 120 minutes. At the same time, the thermal resistivities were also monitored by TGA curves. By determining these properties, the usability limits of Mn-phthalocyanines in photocatalytic or thermal studies are known. With these results, new MnPc products contribute to the literature.
