Project no. 28447 · Status: Kapanmış (Yayın bekleniyor) · 2023
Summary

Technological advances in many sectors such as developments in electronic devices, power generation, thermal coatings, aviation, etc. make thermal management of materials even more important. The heat generated during the operation of electronic devices is generally dissipated by thermal conduction. Various methods used to dissipate heat in devices include heat wells or heat spreaders, which have high thermal conductivity (CTE) and low coefficient of thermal expansion. In order to increase thermal conductivity, fillers with high thermal conductivity such as metal powders (copper, steel, iron, etc.), ceramic powders (boron nitride, aluminum nitride, aluminum oxide) and carbon-based materials (carbon fiber, synthetic graphite, carbon black) are preferred in polymers. When existing conductivity enhancement methods in polymers are examined, it can be seen that studies on producing polymeric composites using more than one thermal conductive fillers are new. In this project, synthetic graphite with high thermal conductivity, carbon nanotube, carbon fiber and hexagonal boron nitride hybrid were used as thermally conductive filler materials. Thermal conductive fillers in different weight ratios were mixed into the molten polymer with the help of a twin screw extruder, and composite granules were obtained with the help of a pelletizer. Then, composite materials were produced by injection molding machine and the thermal, mechanical, fireretardancy and rheological properties of the new composite structure were determined. As a result of the project, it is aimed to reveal new material recipes and production parameters that will enable the production of composite materials suitable for injection molding with high thermal conductivity. With this project; 1-Determining the synergistic effects of four different thermal conductive fillers (synthetic graphite, carbon nanotube, carbon fiber and hexagonal boron nitride) 2-By adding hybrid thermal conductive fillers at different fractions, the optimum amounts that give highest thermal conductivity values were obtained.
