Summary

Primary Sjögren's syndrome (PSjS) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by dry mouth and eyes. Although lacrimal and salivary gland involvement is the most common in PSjS, extraglandular involvement such as fatigue, arthralgia, arthritis, interstitial lung disease, nephritis, neuropathies and central nervous system involvement can also be seen. Fatigue and depression are very common in patients and affect their quality of life. It is stated in some publications that there is a decrease in physical capacity and aerobic capacity in PSjS women. In addition, changes were observed in the nutrition of these patients compared to the general population. The aim of this study is to determine the nutritional status of PSjS patients and to evaluate their anthropometric measurements, quality of life and mood. This study was conducted with 103 volunteer female patients over 19 years of age who were diagnosed with primary Sjögren's syndrome and met the inclusion criteria. In the collection of research data; A questionnaire form prepared to determine the general information and nutritional habits of the patients and a 24-hour food consumption record were used. In addition, Anthropometric measurements were taken, the Short Form 36 (SF36) scale was applied to determine the quality of life, the Beck Depression Inventory was applied to determine the mood, the disease activity index (ESSDAI) was applied to determine the disease activity, and biochemical data were obtained. As a result of the study, according to the Recommended Dietary Amount (RDA), 41.2% of PSjS patients received insufficient energy, 25.5% received insufficient carbohydrates, 28.4% consumed insufficient protein, 56.9% It has been determined that flour diets contain excessive fat. On the contrary, 42.0% of the individuals were found to be slightly obese and 34.0% to be obese.
