A Study On The Effectiveness Of Organic Fertilizer Applications On Rocket Growing In Organic Matter Poor Soils

Project no. 871 · Status: Kapanmış · 2017

Summary

One of the important factors in obtaining high quality and abundant crops in vegetative production is undoubtedly the organic matter content of the soils. In addition to improving the physical properties of soils, organic matter contributes to vegetative production as high plant nutrient content and as a source of energy for soil microorganisms. It is known that the use of organic fertilizers is necessary to increase productivity in crop production, to improve the physical and chemical structure of soils, to protect human health and to prevent environmental pollution. Other than farm manure, vermicompost and biological fertilizers, which have been extensively researched recently, have an important place in organic fertilizers. Due to excessive and unconscious use of chemical fertilizers, both a decrease in product quality and an environmental pollution problem have occurred. Organic fertilizers, on the other hand, contribute directly and indirectly to nutritional efficiency in agricultural production. Their indirect effects include both increasing the efficiency of existing resources in the soil and increasing the efficiency of added mineral fertilizers, while they directly contribute to plant production with substances such as organic and inorganic acids, hormones and vitamins they secrete. This study was carried out in order to determine the effect of farmyard manure, vermicompost and microbial fertilizer application on the yield and nutrition of rocket plant. The research was carried out in a randomized plot design with 3 replications in pot trials under greenhouse conditions and rocket plant was grown. In the study, 3 different organic fertilizers (fertilizer farmyard manure, vermicompost and microbial fertilizer) were applied to the pots, as well as a control application. Farmyard manure was applied as 1500-3000 and 4500 kg/da, vermicompost as 100-200-300 kg/da and microbial fertilizer was applied as 250-500-1000 g/da (with irrigation water), taking into account the dose recommended by the manufacturer. As a result of the research, the effect of farmyard manure, vermicompost and microbial fertilizer applications on the yield and mineral content of rocket plant was found to be statistically significant. The efficiency of the applications was determined as 4500 kg/dafarm manure, 200 kg/da vermicompost and 1000 g/da biofertilizer, while the control application had the lowest yield and mineral substance content in rocket plant.
