FOLLİKÜLER B HÜCRELİ LENFOMALARIN DERECELENDİRİLMESİ

Project no. 136 · Status: Kapanmış · 2017

Summary

Follicular lymphoma (FL), according to World Health Organization’s classification of lymphoid tumors; is graded based on number of centroblasts as grade 1, 2, and 3; and grade 3 is also subdivided as 3A and 3B. Grade 3A cases contain some centocytes together with many centroblasts, while Grade 3B contain only centroblasts but no centrocytes. FL Grade 3 cases can be seen together with diffuse large B cell lymhoma (DLBCL) or can progress or transform to DLBCL. Grading and staging FL is very important in the means of therapy; early stage, and low grade asymptomatic patients can be watched without receiving any therapy, while FL grade 3B cases should be treated as DLBCL. In this study, 88 FL cases diagnosed in the Department of Pathology of Ege University Faculty of Medicine Hospital, between 1999 – 2012 is included. We planned to organize two groups of pathologists, each group consisting of one hemathopatologist and 4 assistant pathologists; and to reevaluate the cases morphologically, grade them and then compare the results and examine the interobserver differences. This study will also give the assistant pathologists the opportunity to enhance their ability in interpreting morphology and also to determine the interobserver differences and explore the reasons for them. Some cases with representative morphology will be photographed and the cases those graded with different scores will be reevaluated.
