Evaluation of Soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase and HL-G Levels in Abnormal Placental attachment

Project no. 1 · Status: Kapanmış · 2014

Summary

The aim of this study was to investigate the expression and serum levels of soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase (sFlt-1) and HLA-G localization and invasion anomalies in placenta. sFlt-1 is a potent anti-angiogenic growth factor and increases in patients with preeclampsia. Serum values are higher in healthy pregnant women than in non - pregnant women. The non-classical major histocompatibility complex class I human leukocyte antigen G (HLA-G) gene, specifically expressed on the maternal-fetal interface, has been identified as an immunosuppressant. It has been associated with pregnancy complications such as abortus and preeclampsia. However, the non-immune function of HLA-G in trophoblast invasion has not been considered well. In our study, we tried to observe the values of these two markers in the formation of placental invasion. Serum values of patients with placental placement anomaly; the control group was compared with patients without placental placement anomaly. These markers were examined histopathologically in patients who had hysterectomy in the group with placental localization anomaly. Since immunohistochemical staining did not produce different antibody titres, cases were not evaluated. Serum values in patients with placental localization anomaly; HLA-G value was found to be 3.43 times and sFlt was 2.62 times lower (p <0.0001). Serum values; there was no statistically significant difference between the patients with placental placement anomalies and those with invasion anomalies. Serum HLA-G and sFlt values were significantly lower in placental lesions.
