INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT CLEANSING SOLUTIONS ON LOCATOR-ATTACHMENTS AND PRECISION ATTACHMENTS

Project no. 398 · Status: Kapanmış · 2016

Summary

Chemical solutions are used for the cleaning of complete dentures. The effects of these solutions on the material, especially on attachments used in dentures that require precise work, such as an implant, are not fully known. The aim of this in vitro-study was to evaluate changes of pink Locator-Attachments and precision attachmentsafter exposure to different denture cleaners. In our study, the pink locator attachments and precision attachments were separeted groups and each group randomly divided into 4 separate groups and each group were soaked for the equivalent of 3months of clinical use in 3 cleansing solutions (corega tabs, 5.25% sodium hypochlorite (NAOCL, 1:10 dilution),aktident tabs). The exposures lasting 8 hours for daily use and 16 hours in artificial saliva for night. After the holding, hardness, tensile test and DSC analysis performed. According to the results of hardness measurement and tensile test, the difference between the groups was insignificant but the highest values were observed in NaOCl group. In the DSC analysis, it was observed that all groups were damaged by temperature and there was no significant difference between them.
