VISUAL IDENTITY DESIGN RESEARCH OF EFELER YOLU
Project no. 21683 · Status: Kapanmış · 2020
Summary
This study covers the research, preparation, and evaluation of the designs and materials for the presentation and promotion of Efeler Yolu with a holistic approach aiming to support rural tourism along the route. The research method used in the design and implementation of the study was determined as a "mixed method/multiple research method". For this purpose, first, 28 villages on the Efeler Yolu route were visited between June 2020 and November 2021 to accurately determine the local identity and natural-cultural values of the villages on the route of Efeler Yolu. During these visits, a face-to-face in-depth interview technique was applied to a total of 357 people, consisting of local authorities, village headmen, and local people from women, men, young and elderly. Under the guidance of the pre-prepared questionnaires, it was seen that the agricultural products of the village and a natural or cultural feature specific to the village took place in the minds of the local people. Thus, by learning the expectations and suggestions of the local people, symbols specific to each village were revealed, and then, in the second stage, the visual identity elements of the Efeler Yolu were created by considering the methods and techniques related to visual identity design principles. As a result, the inclusion of local people in the design process and receiving their opinions and suggestions has been an important means of awareness for them to adopt the identity of Efeler Yolu and to feel like a part of it. In this context, the unique identity of Efeler Yolu has been made visible and comprehensible as a whole, and it has contributed to facilitating the visual identity and destination branding perception of Efeler Yolu and strengthening its image to the target audience.
