Determination of nutritional status and fertilizer requirements of Izmir tobacco variety grown in Ege Region
Project no. 994 · Status: Kapanmış · 2016
Summary
This study was conducted to determine nutritional status and fertilizer requirements of Izmir tobacco variety which is grown in Agean Region in 2016. At the beginning of growing period, 400 soil samples collected from areas where the production is common. Soil fertility status was determined with both physical and chemical soil analysis (pH, water soluble salt, CaCO3, texture, organic matter, N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Cu and Mn). Sampling parcells (1 m2) were planned as 4 replications. Nutritional status of tobacco plants was determined with leaf samples those were collected at lower top and top leaf. Growth and nutritional contents of plants were revealed with total dry weight and plant nutrient analysis (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn,Cu,Mn). Nutritional status of Izmir tobacco variety was found as a result of this project. Yield and quality parameters which were determined at the end of harvest were correlated with nutritional status to find optimal fertilizer requirements of tobacco plants where İzmir tipi tobacco is commonly produced.
