Development of The Fundamentals of Scientific Research Blended Learning Course in Health Sciences: Design-Based Research

Project no. 608 · Status: Kapanmış · 2017

Summary

The aim of this research is to develop a course design for basic scientific research education (BSR Course) regardless of discipline and grade for postgraduate education in health sciences and evaluate that with the students' pre-post test achievement scores and feedbacks. This multidisciplinary instructional design is enriched with e-learning activities based on students' individual needs and intrinsic motivation. The universe of this study consists of 384 graduate students enrolled to the course, Fundamentals of Scientific Research in four semesters between 2017-2019 academic years. This blended course design which developed with specific design principles, has been subjected to application, data collection, analysis and design correction cycles for four semesters. Within the scope of this research, pre-post test was applied to the students about BSR course. In addition, after each semester, all students were asked about their self-efficacy perceptions, design features of the course, and open-ended feedbacks about the course via a course evaluation form. According to the application findings related to BSR course; The difference between pre-post test achievement scores was good, there was a significant gain in the context of critical reading, self-efficacy perceptions and good learning objectives were satisfied with the course.
