Synthesis, structure elucidation and bioactivity studies of some heterocyclic compounds with potential antimicrobial activity
Project no. 261 · Status: Kapanmış · 2016
Summary
The aim of this project is to search new and effective drug candidates to overcome the growing antimicrobial (drugs used against bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites) drug resistance. Infections caused by resistant microbes lead to serious problems, especially in susceptible patient groups (such as children, elderly, and immunosuppressant patients). The goals of this project are obtaining novel compounds with heterocyclic structure, investigate the antimicrobial effects of these compounds and to reveal the leading compound/compounds by evaluating structure-activity relationships and rational drug design principles. The activity of obtained triazolopyrimidine-naphthylmethylpiperazine hybrid compounds will be tested by disk diffusion and microdilution methods against Gramnegative bacteria, Gram-positive bacteria and fungis. The results obtained indicate that antimicrobial activity is increased by hybridization.
