DEVELOPING PERSONALIZED INTERNET OF THINGS PLATFORM FOR HEALTHCARE DOMAIN

Project no. 751 · Status: Kapanmış · 2016

Summary

Health domain is a complex and distributed research area, where different institutions and people take and provide service, at the same time. In addition to this complicated structure, a great deal of health data is produced due to the simple medical devices that individuals use at home as well as services provided by health institutions. In recent years, the concept of Internet of Things (IoT) has become a new trend for intelligent systems. It is aimed to automate systems such as intelligent houses, intelligent cities by processing the data from sensors or different devices by computers. In this thesis study, the Internet of Things platform specific to the health field will be developed in order to carry out personal health data, smart phones and devices from the medical devices where the measurements are made, and transfer to the cloud from these devices. Thus, the private health data will be registered and inquired by providing patient privacy, and warning services will be provided to the person and responsible persons and institutions in accordance with the determined rules. For example, blood pressure and pulse will be measured by device, this device will transmit this data to the person's smartphone and the data will be transmitted to the cloud through the smartphone. In case of emergency, this information can be sent as an alarm to one's own phone, responsible doctor, one of the family members and the nearest emergency service. It is aimed to process blood pressure and pulse information first on the platform to be developed and the data from other IoT devices such as smart bracelet in the later development stage.
