Project no. 33082 · Status: Kapanmış (Yayın bekleniyor) · 2025
Summary

The project focuses on incorporating the instrumental works found in the recordings of the radio program “Ses ve Saz Dünyamızdan” (From Our World of Voice and Music), broadcast on TRT, into academic discourse by classifying them under headings such as genre, maqam, usûl, title, composer, and performer. The radio program “Ses ve Saz Dünyamızdan,” produced by Ali Rıza Avni Tınaz, has secured its place in history as the longest-running radio program, having been included in the Guinness Book of World Records for its 37-year run.

As part of two R&D projects completed under the auspices of EÜDTMK, Ali Rıza Avni’s entire archive has been digitized. However, since the archival recordings of the “Ses ve Saz Dünyamızdan” radio program were not cataloged within the scope of these projects, there are inconsistencies in the title-content context, resulting in incorrect and incomplete data in the work citations. Recognizing that the archive, in its current state resembling a flawed database, poses difficulties for researchers and interested parties, the goal was set to organize the archive and integrate it into academic life. In this context, the project team listened to all instrumental works in the archive one by one and classified the recordings under detailed headings such as work title, makam, genre, composer, usûl, and performer. It is believed that this study will contribute to the field due to the material it contains regarding the instrumental repertoire of traditional Turkish music.
