ELECTRICITY GENERATION WITH WIND ENERGY SRM GENERATOR DESIGN

Project no. 21366 · Status: Kapanmış · 2019

Summary

In this study, a monitoring system was designed and implemented for the Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM). In this study, an economic driver was designed to drive a three phase SRM with 12/8 poles. For driving the circuit, MOSFET were used for switching and low cost STM32F0 microcontroller was used to control the driver. The switched reluctance motor, which is a special type of motor, is preferred because it has a simple geometry and since there is no winding in the rotor, it is possible to produce motors with various powers compared to the motor volume. In this context, the project consists of the design of a SRM motor, the power electronics and software sections. In this study, finite element analysis is performed using a three-phase 12/8 pole Switched Reluctance Motor (ARM), Ansoft / Maxwell, the winding type and number is determined to provide optimum conditions and gate driver is designed. The position and speed control of the motor is carried out with the STM32F0 Microprocessor, an ARM-based microcontroller. A linear incremental encoder is used to determine the position direction and the speed of the motor. The current of the phases is perceived by the sensors attached to the driver circuit. The designed system consist of a SRM motor with 6/4 pole, 3 phase, 471.121 W output power and a 48 V input voltage. The main goal of this project is to make a progression in the field of Renewable energy, and design a motor with less mass, less cost, less losses, operating at lower speeds, higher torque and efficiency compared to the asynchronous / synchronous motor.
