The Synthesis and Researching the Usage of Thermoresponsive Hyaluronic Acid Hydrogels Containing Flaxseed Mucilage

Project no. 22937 · Status: Kapanmış · 2021

Summary

Hyrogels are cross-linked polymeric structures swollen in water that synthesized with one or more monomers. The characteristic feauture ofhydrogels are the capable of swelling and holding huge amount of water indeed is not soluble in water. Hydrogels can be synthesized by various polymerization methods with various structures. The monomers (derived from natural biopolymers) can be used as the component of hydrogels. They have some common properties; biocompatibilities, biodegradable, have low strength, have superior plasticity, similarity to live tissue, and easy to modify.

The plant-based hydrogel polymers (mucilage, gum) derived from natural biopolymers can be used different pharmaceutical form such as drug delivery system, film coating agent, microspheres, nanoparticles, viscous liquids (implant). The natural mucilage forms do not have any toxic effects, and have some excellent properties such as low cost and emollient.

In this study, the Linseed mucilage has chosen because of its good water holding capacity, swelling ability, and high viscocity in aqeous solutions. The different ratio of temperature sensitive polymers and mucilage mixed to get uniform hydrogel. The formed hydrogel are added to solution of hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid (HA) is used in medical area for wound healing, tissue engineering and cosmetics. But the strength of hyaluronic acid hydrogels is very poor. So that, we aimed to synthesize the boosted elasticity form of hyaluronic acid hydrogels mixed with temperature sensitive polymer and Linseed mucilage. We also aim to examine the possibility of resulted hydrogel.
