COMPARISON OF PERFORMANCE OF CHEMICALS IN DIFFERENT STRUCTURES IN FLAME RETARDANT FINISHING OF COTTON FABRICS
Project no. 759 · Status: Kapanmış · 2016
Summary
The increasing technology, increasing industrialization and increasing population increase in parallel with the increasing population cause the fire risk and the material and moral damages of the fire. In order to minimize the loss of life and property in the event of a fire, the use of textile products made of flammable fabrics is of utmost importance. The aim of this project is to transfer environmentally friendly materials to cotton woven fabrics used as home textiles to give them a flammable property and to compare the performance of the materials used. The different types of organoclays and commercial nanoclays were used as chemical substances. Among the main objectives of this project are the use of environmentally friendly and halogen-free clays, which are used in the laboratory environment, as an alternative to commercial materials in this field. After the application of clays to fabrics, a number of tests and analyzes were performed. These tests are: XRD, SEM, TGA, DSC, FTIR analyzes, vertical burning test and LOI tests. After the tests, the results obtained were evaluated and the final report of the project was written.
