Investigation of the Effect of Various Stitching Parameters on the Performance of Conductive Sewing Threads Under Repeated Washing Cycles
Project no. 32156 · Status: Kapanmış (Yayın bekleniyor) · 2024
Summary

Smart textile applications have become increasingly widespread and significant across various industries in recent years. Ensuring that products in this field go beyond the prototype stage and are adopted for widespread use is a key concern for researchers. Extending the lifespan of smart textiles is a critical factor influencing purchasing decisions. This study aims to examine the durability of domestic and imported conductive sewing threads under home-type washing cycles, taking into account various influencing parameters. Considering the gaps identified in the literature, conductive thread applications are addressed comprehensively. Furthermore, determining the optimum parameters for the selection and application of conductive threads is expected to serve as a guide for both researchers and manufacturers. This project focuses on issues such as wash resistance and service life of smart textiles under domestic conditions, and highlights the need for further research on material selection. As a result of the study, the performance of domestic and imported conductive sewing threads will be compared, and changes in electrical conductivity values of fabrics sewn with these threads after repeated washing cycles will be revealed.
