Isolation of resveratrol compound from peanut sprouts, radioiodination and investigation of its bioactivity on neuroblastoma cell lines
Project no. 20081 · Status: Kapanmış · 2018
Summary
Nowadays, fruits and vegatables, which are known to be rich in natural antioxidants, are consumed very much and intensity of the traditional use of them are becoming increasingly important. According to researches, peanuts are known to be rich in compounds such as resveratrol (RES), phenolic acids, flavonoids and phytosterols, and contain high amounts of arginine. In recent years, natural antioxidant substances have been produced and purified from plants, and there is a significant increase in the potential for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. In this thesis; By extracting peanut sprouts which rich in RES, the RES compound was isolated and labeled with 131I radionuclide (131I-RES) by using the iodoogen method. Cell culture studies were conducted to investigate the bioavailability of 131I-RES on human neuroblastoma cell lines (SK-N-AS and SH-SY5Y). In experimental studies, it was seen that RES compound was radiolabeled with 131I radionuclide by 98.32 ± 1.41 % (n = 6) yield and statistically significant results were obtained in the studied cell lines. This thesis carried out, as a herbal product extracts for the development of new agents for diagnosis and therapy is thought to contribute to the investigations done in this area.
