The Effects of Single Leg Isometric Squat on Agility and Serve Ball Speed in Tennis Players

Project no. 834 · Status: Kapanmış · 2014

Summary

An effective service shot is one of the most important parameters for the successful performance of tennis. It is believed that there is also a relationship between lower extremity izometric strength and agility. The purpose of this study is to relationship the ball speeds during service with the strength values of single leg isometric squat movement with 5m and 10 m speed in competitive male tennis players. Our study, tennis players were identified with their service speed (radar device), leg strength values (load cells), 5 m and 10 m speed tests and descriptive characteristics. The results of this study show that, there was no significant relationship between the isometric strength values measured during the participants squat and the speed and speed tests of the service. As a result; the low number of participants and only the lower extremity strength values may have caused these results to be included in the study. It is important to measure the other relevant segments of the body of the isometric strength, which will significantly impact the shot performace during the preparation phase of the tennis service.
