ANALYZING THE EFFECTS OF DERMAL FORMULATIONS OF DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS INVOLVING POLYMERIC MICELLE ON TISSUE REPAIR

Project no. 236 · Status: Kapanmış · 2015

Summary

Recently, none of our wounds are completely healed leaving significant impact on our body. The hardest typical wounds to recover are diabetic wounds, burn wounds and bedsores. Therefore, scientific world continues to research in order to find a permanent cure for most of our temporary wounds. To prevent 2nd and 3th type burn wounds get infected, antibacterial drug substance silver sulphadiazine and chitosan biopolymer was used attentively to generate polimeric micelles. Chitosan was depolymerized to increase loading capacity of drug substance. The polymeric micelles which were generated, dried via freeze drying (lyophilization). Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose –a non-ionic polymer- was used to compose gel formulation. The lyophilized polymeric micelles was dispersed in to the composed gel. Thus, a mixed gel formulation - including polymeric micelles- was obtained. Moleculer weight analysis and elemental analysis were conducted to characterize depolymerized chitosan. Hence deacetylation degree was calculated. Also, lyophilized polymeric micelles were characterized through quantitive analysis, particle size and disturbition analysis and microscopic examination. Ultimately, gel formulations were characterized by rheology analysis, in vitro drug release analysis and antibacterial effect analysis.
