Summary
Today, cancer can seriously threaten human health and cause death. The mechanism of cancer formation and metastasis is still not fully understood. For this reason, experimental and theoretical studies about the drug-model membrane interactions to be carried out at the molecular level regarding the diagnosis and treatment of this disease are very important. Due to the complexity of biological systems, molecular studies are usually carried out with model membranes, where components can be reduced and concentrations can be altered. The efficacy of drugs is directly related to their interaction with cell membranes. Therefore, biophysical investigation of the interaction of drugs with membranes is very important. These biophysical studies are based on the organization of the order and dynamics of lipid systems. Spectroscopic and calorimetric methods have great success in model membrane researches. Theoretical studies will provide a detailed understanding of the structure of cancer drugs or lipids and will be very helpful in interpreting the experimental results. For all these reasons, our aim is to investigate the effects of some cancer drugs on model membranes consisting of various neutral and / or charged lipids.
