Exploiting Self-organizing Algorithms in Reliable Multi-agent Systems

Project no. 757 · Status: Kapanmış · 2016

Summary

In this study, a novel approach is introduced to achieve fault tolerance in multi-agent systems. A self-adaptive approach based on stigmergy is applied to design groups of agents in order to build reliable multi-agent systems. According to this approach, adaptiveness is achieved via an environment which is modified by the activities of the living entities. In this approach, there is not a centralized control mechanism in the multi-agent system and there is not need of global knowledge of the system to achieve faul tolerance. This approach was implemented to demonstrate its performance gain in a set of experiments performed under di?erent operating conditions. The experimental results illustrate the e?ectiveness of this approach.
