THE EFFECT OF DIFFERENT HARVEST TIMES ON YIELD AND SOME UALITY CHARACTERISTICS OF ITALIAN RYEGRASS (Lolium multiflorum L.) VARIETIES

Project no. 981 · Status: Kapanmış · 2016

Summary

The study was carried out in the experimental fields of Ege University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Field Crops in Bornova in 2015 and 2016 for two years. The research was carried out in randomized block design with three replications. Caramba, Efe-82, Pollanum, Rambo, Trinova and Vespoli varieties were used as Italian ryegrass varieties. As harvest times, beginning of heading and grain filling period were discussed. According to the results, it was understood that cultivars and harvest times had a significant effect on all the characters discussed. The highest yields for fresh herbage (34.6 t/ha), hay (9.0 t/ha), dry matter (8.0 t/ha) and crude protein (1.1 t/ha) were taken from Rambo, whereas Trinova gave the highest crude ash (1.0 t/ha) and crude fiber (2.5 t/ha) yields. Efe-82 gave the highest NDF (57.87%) and ADF (39.38%) rates. Keywords: Italian ryegrass, cultivar, harvest time, yield, quality
