DEVELOPMENT OF A PRIVACY FRAMEWORK FOR ONTOLOGY BASED DATA ACCESS
Project no. 1360 · Status: Kapanmış · 2018
Summary
Ontology-based data access is the provision of data access and data integration as a result of a mapping between ontology and data source after the creation of ontology and data sources. Thus, storing large amounts of data becomes easier, more powerful queries can be written, and management of complex information systems can be performed quickly and effectively by using Semantic Web technologies. Ontology-based access control enables the implementation of access control mechanism by using Semantic Web technologies. Thus, only authorized persons can access data and data privacy is protected. In this project, ontology-based data access and ontology-based access control are integrated. In this context, a privacy framework is developed for ontology-based data access. The developed privacy framework is exemplified and implemented for the healthcare domain. For this purpose, a hospital ontology is developed, a hospital policy ontology is created for the related hospital ontology, a hospital database is created, the relevant mappings between the created database and the ontology are made by using the Ontop tool, and various queries are written using Ontop SPARQL.
