Özet
In the childhood routine vaccination schedule of the Ministry of Health of our country, varicella vaccine is administered as a single dose at the end of the 12th month as of January 2013. Varicella vaccine containing the Oka strain is used in our national vaccination program. Our study included 98 children who were administered varicella vaccine containing Oka strain between December 2018 and October 2019. Serum samples were obtained 4-8 weeks post-vaccination. Immunogenicity was studied by indirect fluorescence method (Anti-VZV IIFT IgG, Euroimmun, Germany) and the results were evaluated. Results were reported as negative, weak positive, and strong positive. Of the children in our study group, 58 were boys and 40 were girls. The mean age was 13.7 months. Seropositivity was detected in 81 (82.7%) of 98 children who received varicella vaccine containing Oka strain. When the positive values were compared, 17 of the children vaccinated with against varicella containing the Oka strain were negative, 12 were weakly positive, and 69 were strongly positive. In our study, the immunogenicity developed against the varicella vaccine was evaluated. The rate of seropositivity was found to be high in children who received varicella vaccine containing Oka strain. Keywords: Immunogenicity, Oka strain, varicella vaccine
