Summary

<p>Landscape function analysis is the determination of the functions they have or fulfill in the planning and management of landscapes and covers natural, cultural and perceptual processes. It includes a formation that changes from complex functions that shape and transform the landscape to less complex functions arising from the interaction of landscape elements. Ecological processes that change and transform as a result of human intervention should be considered as a priority in landscape analysis. The main functions that shape each landscape may be different from each other.</p><p>This study was carried out in Selçuk district of İzmir, which has urban, rural, natural and cultural landscape elements. By defining the landscapes of Selçuk district, soil protection, water, biodiversity and cultural functions of the landscape, which are important in terms of ecological processes, were determined. All these functions were evaluated holistically in terms of landscape planning. The water function in the district was found to be very high with a rate of 16.86%. Soil protection and biodiversity function were found to be high with 35.46% and 37.88%, respectively. The cultural function value was found to be high with 7.41%. It is aimed to produce plan decisions for conservation with the data obtained and to develop land use and management decisions by comparing these decisions with existing spatial plans.</p>
