Summary
Crowdfunding, it is of great interest in Turkey as well as in the world. Crowdfunding is an alternative financing method in which organizations, especially start-up businesses and individuals can finance their commercial and non-commercial activities by raising funds from the public through platforms created on the Internet. An alternative financing options such as crowdfunding is expected that the contribution of emerging economies such as Turkey. Although crowdfunding found donation-based funding application areas in Turkey, compared to the example in the world in terms of capital markets due to the lack of a regulatory infrastructure funding mass it is developed in the desired qualifications. To remedy this deficiency, 12.26.2016 Date of Turkey giving place to the The Grand National Assembly of Turkey submitted to the Capital Markets regulations for crowdfunding in the Draft Law Amending the Law on crowdfunding is the first step to be implemented in Turkey and development. Accordingly, crowdfunding means the collection of funds from the public through mass funding platforms without being subject to the provisions of the Capital Markets Law regarding investor compensation in accordance with the principles to be determined by the Capital Markets Board in order to provide the funds needed by a project or new venture. There is no research on the awareness of this alternative funding method in Turkey which is expected to increase its economic size and increase its awareness around the world. This research was conducted to fill this gap. In this research, it was emphasized that new ideas and projects emerged predominantly in the young population and especially the perception and awareness of university students on the subject was tried to be determined. With the questionnaire applied to the undergraduate and undergraduate students of Ege University, the awareness of the crowdfunding methods, its use, and which sectors it will be used with which crowdfunding model are tried to be revealed.
