Researching the Compliance of Calibration Data with the Standards Determined by the Ministry of Health after the Restructuring of the Clinical Engineering Unit of Ege University Faculty of Medicine Hospital Calibration Laboratory

Project no. 125 · Status: Kapanmış · 2017

Summary

Ege University Faculty of Medicine, which has more than 1816 beds, provides medical services in our hospital, while the services must be better, reliable and comply with certain standards. These standards are also very important for the Accreditation of Ege University Hospital. For this, the main purpose is to carry out the maintenance, repair and calibration of the medical devices in our hospital in appropriate periods and standards. For this purpose, the restructuring of the Clinical Engineering Unit “Calibration Laboratory” serving in our hospital within the framework of the Ministry of Health Calibration Regulation and its compliance with the standards were compared. The calibration data of 398 medical devices made by companies approved in accordance with the standards were compared with the calibration data of the Clinical Engineering Calibration Laboratory. There was no difference between both. This showed that the Calibration Laboratory can perform the calibration effectively. As a result, by making medical devices by Clinical Engineering, money paid to calibration companies will be saved. Even in the future, additional resources will be created for our university by performing external calibration for a fee. Key Words: Calibration Laboratory; Clinical Engineering
