THE STUDIES ON DETERMINATION OF THE AGRONOMIC, MORPHOLOGICAL AND PHYSIOLOGICAL DIFFERENCES AFFECTING YIELD AND QUALITY OF IMPROVED ANISE LINES
Project no. 889 · Status: Kapanmış · 2018
Summary
This research was carried out to explore agronomic, morphological and physiological differences, which effects yield and quality of anise breeding lines in Bornova ecological conditions. A field experiment was conducted in the experimental fields of Ege University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Field Crops in completely randomized blocks design with three replications during 2017 growing season. In 10 anise genotype, agronomic, morphological and quality characteristics; plant height, umbrella diameter, total number of branches, fruit number of branches, biological yield, grain yield, harvest index, thousand grain weight, essential oil rate were determined whereas growth parameters; Relative Growth Rate (RGR) and Net Assimilation Rate (NAR) were calculated for different phenological periods (slow vegetative stage [(post-germination)-(pre-blooming)] and rapid vegetative stage [(pre-blooming)-(maturity)] of 10 anise genotypes. According to the results of the research; plant height ranged between 43,00-48,40 cm while umbrella diameter 6,71-8,76 cm, total number of branches 6,20 -8,8 branches /plant, number of fruit branches 4,70-7,20 branches /plant, the biological yield 130,54-180,55 kg/da, the grain yield 50,85-69,47 kg/da the harvest index 31,0-42,24%, and the 1000¬-grain weight 2,27-3,10 g, the essential oil rate 1,83-2,58% respectively. The highest RGR (63,58 mg/g.day) and NAR (84,58 g/m2.day) values were recorded at rapid vegetative stage of Genotype-3.
