MICRO MODEL ANALYSIS OF STONE MASONRY STRUCTURES STRENGTHENED BY STEEL PROFILES
Project no. 693 · Status: Kapanmış · 2015
Summary
Method of strengthening with steel construction on historical masonry structures are frequently preferred due to their advantages. However, the adaptation of the steel bearing system in accordance with the existing slab, rubble stone or brick-rubble stone mixed wall system is an important issue for the safe transmission of the load. In particular, the behavior of two different types of steel and the masonry wall in relation to improper loads should be considered realistic. . In this study, the detailed theoretical analysis of the connections where the steel bearing system attached to the wall is added to an existing masonry structure for strengthening will be discussed. Static and dynamic analysis of mixed systems to be idealized by micro model approach will be realized within the Finite Element Method. In numerical analysis, SAP2000, Structural Analysis Program will be used for analysis of such composite structures. As a case study, the historical structure of the Laskaris Palace, which has a masonry stone system carrying out restoration and reinforcement works in the Kemalpaşa district of İzmir province, has been studied theoretically. The static and dynamic analysis of the structure, which was strengthened with the steel construction system added to the existing structure, before and after reinforcement, was carried out on the mathematical model idealized by the micro model approach. In this study, it is aimed to obtain the factors affecting structural behavior and the appropriate combinations that can be used in this context.
