COMPUTER AIDED GRAY SCALE EVALUATION AND PROVIDING CORRECT COLOR MANAGEMENT ON THE SCREEN
Project no. 1347 · Status: Kapanmış · 2017
Summary
Leather, which is one of the important materials used in the fashion industry, requires color, spesifications and performanced that the customer demands. Leather is expected to provide various fastness performances in particular. In fastness tests, the leather and the reference fabric / felt are subjectively evaulated with gray scales by experts in the profession. However, it is known that the human eye cannot evaulate always correctly due to various factors. Yet another problem is the mismatch between computer monitor colors and real-life color. Firstly, the leather samples, which were tested with priority in this project, were evaluated and scored by experts. Then, the values obtained by measuring the same samples with a color measurement spectrophotometer were transferred to a specially written computer program within the scope of the project and information about the gray scale was given from these values. In addition, by providing screen calibration, the measured color values are accurately reflected in the relevant software. Finally, by comparing the visual evaluations and computer results, it can be revealed that the grayscale evaluation process can be done with the computer in a short time and as a minimal margin of error.
