Comparison of 3 different DNA isolation methods in fish muscle tissue
Project no. 1303 · Status: Kapanmış · 2014
Summary
DNA isolation is the first and the most important step in molecular studies. Success of the process highly depends this first step. In this study, which is an infrastructural project, equipments were supplied which are required for this step of molecular analysis and thus, DNA isolation methods could be experimented. With this aim, DNA isolations were done from 50 sea bass muscle tissue using three different methods (salt extraction, phenol-chloroform, GeneMATRIX kit) and DNA amounts and purity values were presented. Results showed that phenol-chlorofom isolation gave the highest amount of DNA (1074.46ng/µl). Amounts of isolated DNA with other two methods were quite close to each others (173ng/µl ve 176ng/µl). In addition, purities and impurities were close to eachothers for all methods.
